It is a hot and humid Saturday. Like CRAZY stifling humidity that only Singaporeans (or friends from the equator) know of. You just rolled out of bed, well not really, cos you are still in your soft holey crumpled shirts (otherwise fondly known as PJs). Your stomach is growling and you are hungry but do not want to brave the heat and the sweat and the extreme humidity.

I am famished.
Call Mcdonalds? But they will take time to come.
And fast food is unhealthy, I don’t really want to start my weekend being unhealthy right? That can wait when night comes…
My stomach is demanding an answer…
The longer I take to decide, the hungrier I become.
Above real-life scenario re-played a dozen times.
In times like this, I will turn to my trusty NutriBullet to make a smoothie. It is a fool-proof way for a quick and nutritious breakfast. AND you get Instagram worthy pictures as a bonus! What not to like.
Recipe: Refreshing Green Cooler
For the smoothie:
- 1 cup coconut water (unsweetened)
- Handful of spinach
- 1 frozen banana
- 1-2 tsp matcha powder
For the toppings:
- 1 tbsp oats
- 1 tsp flax seeds
- 1 tsp raisins
- In a powerful blender, combine coconut water and spinach till smooth
- Add banana and matcha powder and blend till well-combined
- Finish with toppings
You can buy matcha powder at cold storage or mediya. I have re-purchased the following brand over and over again as it dissolves well and does not clump even in cold water.
